Years ago (50?!) there was an article in Woodwind World by Julien Shanis, the , then, EH. player in the San Francisco Symphony, about going out to some new cane fields in California and testing the quality. At this point in time I don't know if they still exist. One of the major players/teachers out there, should know about this. Regards.
