Oboes crack mainly when there are sudden temperature changes i.e. when it's 30F outside and you bring the oboe in and immediately start to play it. When you carry it, consider it like a baby. Thus you don't put it in the trunk nor keep it in a parked car when it can get up to 135 degrees F. What I would do it apply some bore oil (or mineral oil) to the instrument---I use a feather. Don;t let it soak the pads. The wood pores will soak it up so the instrument will be better conditioned for moist to dry changes. Even playing outdoors will not destroy or crack and instrument---it's fast changes without letting the instrument adapt that crack the wood. I did play a sax outside once in 30 degree weather with snow on the ground and then some of the pads did pop off--- but that was a glue/pad problem.
Once also when I played outside in 100 degree F weather the worst problems were intonation and the trumpet players valves seizing---oil was evaporating.
I don't see a problem if you bring the instrument in with you from the air conditioned car, don't keep it near the cooling/or heating systems; oil the bore. If the instrument is more than a few years old, the wood stresses should be worked out by now.
