Thank you Bobo, I know many others agree.
At the risk of going off topic, I must apologize for sometimes appearing to dislike HH - not so at all.
Heinz Holliger's style and record collection, even in my opinion, is a treasure! I think some have evolved (not surpassed), but in all cases his ornamentation of Handel is unparalelled and his dynamics!!!!! Finally, his performance style is straight forward, but just so full of soul somehow!
As for his sound, I really have to wonder if recording setups have interfered. In some records, he sounds like a buzzophone, in others, full body.
