 Baroque oboe

... thankee kindly sire, for this link, much enjoyed studying ye baroque hautboy fingering chart, and oh look! there's the old-fashioned forked B-flat, open C#, recorder top C, recorder half hole, and double holes in the middle of the pipe ... ooh, goosebumps!

bonus! some more exercises to practice on any oboe

... oh wow, re-discovered T-notation (ti ri ti ti) in articulation studies :-)

T-noting sure makes it easier to figure out how to tongue the rhythms in the music, i sometimes use T-notes on practice copy to figure out difficult rhythms in band, clarinet next to me said what the heck is that, i said try the different vowels with breath extender marks while tonguing, uppercase means more emphasis than lowercase, wow, she said, that helps get the rhythm and the beat in it OK

i learned this method fairly early on in beginner oboe studies 'way back when in the 60's, is this something taught only in university music studies nowadays, or is it taught to wind players in school bands over here?
