 Re: learning to make reeds

When it comes to buying tools, Charles Double Reed has a great kit that includes a Landwell knife, everything else you will need for reed making (except a sharpening stone) plus some cane and staples which aren't the best, but fantastic for learning on as you don't have to outlay lots on cane you will probably do irrepairable things to initially. :)

I have been learning how to make American scrape reeds this year, which I have enjoyed, but my professor wants me to stick to playing on my own reeds, so next year I will start making short scrape. :) Have fun!
