from the RN who also plays oboe:
breathing with the oboe is, as you know, of very high importance.
IF you are breathing correctly, and IF your reeds are the right strength for you and your playing, and IF your instrument is not too resistant, then you simply should not get headaches.
However, it is easy to 'hold one's breath' while 'pushing', and this can cause a number of problems. If you want to get scientific about it, look up 'Valsalva maneuver' for details.
Local and intense headaches COULD be a symptom of a serious problem, so if this continues, or if it happens when you're NOT playing, do get it checked out. You don't want your oboe playing to contribute in any way to a dormant (hidden) health problem.
I wish you the best and hope the headaches disappear.
