I had been doing internet searches for her oboe since it was stolen. I'm not sure how I didn't find the auction until after it was sold. But I searched for "Loree HB48" and it was the third item that popped up. I tell you, my heart almost stopped! I couldn't believe I actually found it! After doing some research, I found that her oboe was listed on most of the international ebay sites, but not US.
I've reported the seller to ebay myself and I've given all this information to the police to investigate further. Unfortunately, since this is still an open case my daughter will not get her oboe back as they have to keep it in evidence. She is not too happy about that!
She did have her oboe listed on the IDRS site, but she listed it after this auction was over. They had her oboe listed on ebay and sold in less than 2 days! Since Syracuse has a 7-day hold for all pawned items, the pawn shop obviously KNEW this was a stolen oboe.
