This one might be hopeless...
The 1921 Pan American oboe I got over a year ago seems to have been locked in a closet since 1921... at least by the smell of its musty old case!
I've tried disinfecting it with tons of Lysol, enzyme-action pet-odour-remover and even left baking soda in it for several months. When I vacuumed out the soda, it seemed all right, but 2 days later...... great-great-grandmother's old closet again!
The box is faux-leather on the outside and that really furry lining that used to be used.
It's just not like me to throw things away, and I have this nostalgic sense that the original case should stay with the instrument.
Any suggestions at all??????
Cheers!
