A reed adjustment technique I have just discovered that I'm sure some of you already use, but thought I'd share for those who haven't.
Since my arrival in the US, a lot of my reeds have become exceptionally bright and unstable. All advice led to clipping the tip, which I admit to never being successful at. So I have begun using an emory board in the tips, not the cheap ones in packs of ten or so, but the good quality thicker ones. Just a few scrapes makes a HUGE difference and is a lot easier to control the amount that is coming off.
