Thanks for the acoustic info. Really nice E.H. sound, what brand? Really, I like the mellowness and "ampleur", breadth of the sound.
I'm guessing the carpeted floor contributes to the warmth of the tone. I'm guessing that the mic at chin height pointing at an angle down and close to the instrument lets the sound be more true to what you hear when playing.
I'll have to try that, but my recording device has 2 mics at 90 or 120 degrees, so pointing one down to my instrument means one will point away.... it's that away pointing mic that causes trouble.
