Oboe Craig, gals getting together might involve a lot of gal talk, which may or may not bore others. Consider this idea a Social Outing if nothing else.
There is an all-gal trio in my area, they are world-renowned and beautiful together; they do not ADVERTISE being an all-gal trio, but there is some-thing delightful about it. I'll call it Mystery for now.
Performance music (in the upper echelons at least) used to be an all-male gig; even when I lived in Cyprus in the late 80s, women musicians were seen as intruders into a male world. (the Russian cellist found this attitude Horrific; for me, it was more on the amusing side, and the guys were really nice to me once they found out I could play and speak some Greek...)
So let the gals have their gig and enjoy themselves. Gender stuff doesn't HAVE to be devisive...
