I don't know if two cors make a pattern, but this is similar to what happened with my EH. It was stolen. I reported the theft, including serial #, on this board. Within a day or two, Cooper found a listing for a Lorée EH with identical serial number in China. It seems someone out there (or more than one person) thinks it's important to have a serial number that corresponds to a real horn. They find a serial number online, from an auction listing or a reported theft, and use that to make their phony listing more believable.
The police recovered my EH locally.
