I found an advertisement to sell English Horn in London classified. I would like to buy it if some one in London can take a look at it for me. Can someone help? Perhaps Chris?

I don't live in London and it's a fair way from me (two hours away by train or car). I've searched but can't find the listing for it.

If the classified is for a Laubin English horn #2027, please know that this advertisement is for certain a scam...
The actual ownership and disposition of Laubin English horn #2027
for sure has no relationship to Britain/UK...
#2027 is not for sale.

No. This is for Loree PF35.
I wonder what year PF35 was manufactured.

PF is around 2003-2004:

I've emailed the seller so I'll forward their reply onto you when I get it. Let's just say I have my suspicions. Some other listings on there seem far too good to be true - a current model Buffet Prestige low C bass for under £2000 and a brand new Alexander 103 horn with detachable bell for under £3000.

I asked the seller where they are and if I could visit them to try it out and they're having none of it. This is what they said:
"What?? I'm not a warehouse here where you can visit. Again, it's in excellent condition, mint. I'm offering 30 days warranty or money back if not satisfied."
Isn't it customary to try before you buy? I always thought so, especially with something like this. For a seller not even willing to deal with a buyer in person speaks volumes.

That's not just "a" red flag, that's a whole Signal Corps of red flags! I wonder if there is any way to, as they say, "alert the authorities."

The seller doesn't disclose which part of London they're in (that's if they're in London) - most of the other sellers on cr----l--t do.

Ok, it gets funny - they told me in an email "It's from the UK, excellent condition, mint. I'm offering 30 days warranty or money back if not satisfied."
However, I googled the serial number to find an ended eBay listing with:
"Beautiful instrument played by professional member of Kansas City Symphony. Still in amazing condition. Will only ship throughout the US."
I didn't know Miami (the eBay seller's location) was in the UK!
