Wes, your last concern is, unbelievably, not a problem for these students. We don't teach band method in Australia. I work for a department that is completely government funded that provides small group tuition by specialist instrumental teacher to public school students at no charge, and they have the option of hiring (very reasonably) the more expensive instruments for the entire time they are at high school. Most of our oboes are student Buffets and Howarths which are maintained by the department. And all of our reeds are supplied by Ke Xun Ge, who makes a decent student reed and and even more decent standard and pro reed.

So all that's left is to find the right students!!
