I've got a 30E - open hole with thumbplate. Bought it at IDRS 2009, Birmingham.
For me, it stood out from all the other oboes I tried. Maybe because it was open holed (I'm really a clarinettist). But I really love the way it responded - a really 'lively' oboe with a lovely dark tone.
It's a very well made instrument in the German tradition, with very fine grained wood and a sterling pedigree (although better known for their bassoons).
Look out for recordings by Jonathan Small to hear the Puchner at its best.
