No sub for good reeds and proper playing, but I will gladly take every new useful trick someone comes up with.
In this case, I am reminded of the other post about well inserts... I think this really addresses that question better.
Many years ago Don Pleznicar offered a custom staple with the tip opening closed down about 1/2 way. I still have a couple, but never bought the proper mandrel to go with them.
Mostly, I am just glad for new thinking and ongoing innovation, even if I'll not use it. Gougers, et. al. Keep it up!
