OhSuzan and Mark are right BUT, I suppose for good reeds, there might be an advantage.
I am a BIG fan of Chiarugi, but still I think there is a limit to how much innovation in reed making should be happening at all. Just as a Gebr. Mön. AM oboe won't make me play like Albrecht Mayer, reeds should not be considered to do the playing in our steads!
Within a reasonable limit, our breathing and mouth technique should compensate for a wide array of reed descriptions.
