To be sure, better you have completely healed, no pains, before doing anything full steam ahead when it comes to playing. If you have pains, means you have not healed completely and may have an infection. Take it easy, there is lots of time to get back to "tooting your horn". The gums and your tooth cavity went thru some trauma, the hole should fill up nicely and no bleeding and u feel no pain for a few more weeks, then you can be sure that you have healed. I had 4 taken out at once, when I was younger and I was playing then because I was paid to do it. Suffered all thru the experience.
