I was prepared to go out and play the same evening I had two wisdom teeth out, but thought better of it. I gave it two weeks before playing again.
And then a month after the left side ones were taken out I had the right side ones taken out but they had to remove some bone from my jaw this time round due to the roots being curled up as my wisdom tooth was impacted. But again after two weeks I was back playing again.
Best bit is since having my wisdom teeth out, I stopped getting pain down both sides of my face while playing.
Any sharp edges of bone from the empty socket will soon get rounded off by your body's own healing mechanisms (osteoclasts and osteoblasts doing their bit).
