I did not notice any change in my mouth position so I don't think so.

The reed is getting old and tired, but still works

No, the reed didn't dry out.

The reed is closed the right amount.

I didn't check.

I felt like I had to work to make the reed make a sound. But I tried to keep the air flow constant once I got a sound.
