I would advise against getting a high pitch cor as you will have a lot of trouble using it in with low pitch (440Hz) instruments.
Unless you know of a group that all play high pitch instruments (brass and woodwind) - there are probably loads of old high pitch instruments in junk shops and attics collecting dust and it's a shame as some are very good instruments but are rendered useless on account they're built to high pitch.
I bought a Buffet bassoon off eBay but had to return it as it was high pitch. It was in absolutely beautiful condition but was of no use to me being high pitch as I wanted to use it for doing pit work - but it wasn't a loss to the seller as a collector in France bought it off him. But I did find a Buffet RC bassoon from the '80s which is fine, but did set me back a lot more.
Over on the clarinet mesageboards there are some members who have some rare beasts - a Rudall-Carte simple system C bass clarinet as a good example, which is high pitch. So it would be nice for these old instruments of quality (and a lot of them are from top makers) to be put back into use by forming high pitch concert bands.
