Ditto to all of the above.
Although I have relied on Schuring's website throughout my brief oboe career, I also bought the book. It's the new oboist's Bible, IMO. Clear, comprehensive, in the same class as Sprenkle and Ledet, except more readable.
I had the privilege to play beside one of his recent students last year, and if her playing is any indication, he is one of the great teachers of our era. Or maybe she was just good. Or both.
Does anyone know if Mr. Schuring does a summer workshop or masterclass or anything of that sort? I would love to go to something like that!
