Canadian bassoonist Dantes Rameau is also working on El Sistema in Atlanta, GA.

El Sistema also recently openned a school in Gothenburg Sweden (where Gustavo Dudamel conducts the Swedish National Orchestra). Here is a link to a wonderful 30 minute documentary about it, in which we also hear a lot of the Gonthenburg orchestra (a top notch ensemble which we unfortunately don't hear a lot about in North America).
The documentary is in Swedish, but interviews with Dudamel are in english.
