Check the upper 8ve vent isn't blocked or filling up with water - close all the fingerplates with your LH fingers and block the tenon off with any finger on your right hand. Then while holding the 2nd 8ve key open, suck the air from the reed socket and also blow into it to see if this dislodges any condensation that could be in there. Then try it again.
If you know how to remove the 8ve vents and clean them out, do this as well to be sure there's no corrosion in there. The vent hole itself is around 0.7mm, so find a piece of wire or bristle to poke in there to be sure the vent is clear - you can soak them in vinegar or kettle descaler to remove any mineral deposits.
The bottom of the well (the part in the body) should have a hole in it around 2mm in diameter, so use a wooden toothpick to poke it with to dislodge any build-up that could be in there.
Then clean the bore of any debris that may have fallen into it, refit the 8ve vents (apply some grease to the underside of the flange to make an airtight seal once they're screwed back in) and check how it plays.
