I know that the EH is different.
Perhaps I shouldn't have included it here, but I also wanted an opinion whether you thought it was a dark or bright sound on it.

I also thought that the performance by Yeon Hee Kwak was dark and pure.
I thought that the oboe on the Carpenters was bright, so I'm learning something here...

I'm trying also to put into words what I mean by the "wah sound," perhaps a more "nasal tone" would be a better description?
One of the reasons that I used the EH for example is that you can usually hear the "wah sound" on them, I guess because of their lower pitch...

It would seem that oboe shares some of the problems with other woodwinds when going to a very dark sound, as in Mark's opinion.

Thanks Chris, I know even less about EH, so I'm learning a bit more in that regard as well.

Glad to hear Mark and CW chime in, as they are the ones that really know their reeds ( not to say that others don't, but from the many posts that I've read by them, I know that they are always working to better their stuff!)
