Making reeds is not easy!!! Buy some books. Look up Midwest Musical Imports..... they have books on reed making. Jay Light, David Weber etc. I would recommend learning how to tie a reed on. Order some profiled cane from Jones. You can buy a dozen for about 25 dollars. These are almost finished reeds.....all you need to do is tie them on.....clip them open....test them and maybe clip a bit more until they are at the right pitch. Your first attempts might not be great but you could be lucky. You would need a few supplies also. staples....maybe 6 or so....thread....mandrel ....buy a plaque even though you won't use it much at first. Many stores sell beginning reed kits.....you should have a ruler...in mm. At first your percentage of playable reeds might be 20 % but that will increase . If you try to make reeds from scratch (not profiled) it would take you a long time to make good reeds consistently. There are lots of things to learn even about tying a reed. It takes many attempts to get comfortable with it. Any questions....just ask. John
