I use the banana key so much, I actually covered it with a sliver of wine-cork to get it closer.
I use the 3rd ocatve key extensively as I just LOVE the highest register. I sometimes also use it to replace the half-hole and-or 1st octave, especially in trills, key when the weather plays tricks on the sound. Sometimes notes will sound windy, the 3rd octave key alleviates that.
I must confess, however, that since the revoicing of my Lorée, the benefit of the 3rd octave key is less evident.
As for the for the forked F, whatever works on your specific instrument! I find the forked-F easier to use than the left-hand key in many orchestral excerpts. However, to put in the Eb is not habitual to me. I don't need the key, my Lorée's resonance key does the trick.
