I had no particular loss of color vision before cataract surgery and it remains the same after. The good news is that several elderly friends report a large improvement in the perception of color after the surgery. One said it was delightful to see colors look so beautiful--his loss before the surgery had been so gradual he had never noticed it until everything looked so nice after his implants.
