 Stolen Oboe
Author: jens

I am the occasional oboe player. I had a very nice Oboe, but our house in Seattle was burglarized in Jan. 2010 and the Oboe was taken. Here is the next unfortunate thing. I am not sure about the oboe maker.
I think it was a “Wetzel”, but I cannot find any information about this oboe maker. I have the serial number of the oboe: 835. Perhaps someone can tell me if this makes sense. The instrument was bought around 1975 or 76 in Germany from Hieber in Munich.
Definitely, if someone offers you an oboe with that serial number please check with me or the police in Seattle.
Any help in this is greatly appreciated!
