It would be interesting to get an insight from somebody who is involved in the manufacture, or specialist repair. Someone who sees many of the same make and model.

The starting point for the discussion is really what degree of variation is there in a model line.

Is there a top 30% really good, 30 % good, 30% mediocre, 10% not pass internal quality control

Or 1% "wow that all comes together and is stunning", 80% "absolutely fine, as good as each other, down to personal preference" and 9% "who can we palm these off to"

And of course, how consistency varies with maker.....
