buying my next oboe

hello,

im going into grade nine next year and despite not having a music program i would like to continue with lessons, i have been playing oboe since grade seven and now it is the end of grade eight. i have become fairly good, and i can play grade three pieces. but since i can't rent from a school i have decided to buy a used oboe. this oboe should probably be more advanced them i am so that i don't need to go out and buy a new oboe next year.

i have a few questions about buying this oboe

should i even be buying an oboe or should i rent from a store?
should it be wood or plastic?
what are some very important things i need in my oboe?
more importantly, does anyone know of any oboes i should/could be getting/get?
