I have 3 reed books. The Melvin Berman's The Art of Oboe Reed Making, Jay Light's Oboe Reed Book, and David Weber's Reedmaker's Manual.
Granted, I admit I am biased because I've worked with David Weber extensively, but his book is the only one that I come back to again and again. Part it this is because he explains the contour better, as well as how the contour of the tip should be. Jay Light's book as a lot of useful information, but his book doesn't explain how to shape the scrape of the tip, and the careful layering of it.
If you plan on sitting down and reading a manual from cover to cover, then Jay Light's book is worth reading, but sometimes "less is more" and David Weber's book has less words, more pictures, and is overall clearer.
