There's been a fair amount of discussion about ultrasonic cleaners on the IDRS board, which, alas, has no archive of old postings. The consensus is that they are effective in cleaning reeds and make a moderate extension in reed life. People use everything from denture cleaner to Plax to distilled water for the liquid. Given the low price, it's worth trying.
