I've played in a wide variety of atmospheric weather conditions, and you are SO right there. Elevation, dryness/humidity, hemisphere(?), temperature: double reedists suffer from these more than even the violins, I think.

happy reed making; good luck getting satisfaction from a customer in Borrego...

(I have no idea where to breathe in the Mendelssohn.)
