Check the top joint pads - either they're not closing (out of adjustment) or seating properly, they may be damaged or even missing. Make sure the C-D trill pad is closing, and not being held open by the linkage from the lower joint. The trill levers on the top joint should have some play in them to prevent the trill key pads being held open.
