Ashley, you may even want to consider Edmund Nielsen reeds. I started oboe using their blue thread reeds and find that they work great. When you first get them, I found that I have to give them a real good soak and squeeze them nearly closed. Once you do that, they sound very nice, dark, play in perfect pitch with little embouchure adjustment, and last a long time.
