Yeah, this is a different style of reedmaking. Not all reedmakers go in for the clearly defined heart, spine, and channels. The Fox, Selmer, and Gower reeds in particular tend towards the "other" style, and tend to have a "flatter", more triangular or wedge-shaped rather than long and pointed, not as bumpy appearance. It doesn't make them any better or worse, just different.
