The cor is a Ward and Winterbourne and I don't know what the crook is. It is made of brass (?) (copper coloured metal) whereas the other crook is made of silver-coloured metal.
There is a big difference between the two diamaters so I'm not sure that cigarette paper will work - I might have a go with masking tape tomorrow. What surprised me was the note that came with it saying that the cor had better intonation with this crook so the previous owner must have played with it somehow. (I bought it through a shop so am not in direct contact with the previous owner to ask how he played it).
Chris, do Howarths recork crooks and do you (or anyone else) have any idea of the cost?
