First you want to find out how old it is. This is done easily by using the serial number on the back of the oboe, (generally for Loree's it is two letters and two numbers) then go to "musictrader.com/loree html" or plug the words LOREE SERIAL NUMBER into a search engine. You should come to a chart where you can approximate the date of your Loree. That will be helpful in selling it.

It probably wouldn't hurt if you brought it into a reputable dealer who could give it a once over. You probably don't want to put a lot of money into it before you sell it. An overhaul could cost you a lot of money, anywhere from 400 to 1000 dollars, and that depends in the condition of the instrument.
