Hi,
I came across this ligature while ordering reeds today:
https://shop.weinermusic.com/Abelet-KS-Bb-Clarinet-Walnut-Ligature/productinfo/LAKS1W/
Anyone tried this or own one? I'm not clear on how the wood is supposed be flexible enough to adjust to various diameter mouthpieces etc.
Cheers,
Robert

If it's laminated (which it appears to be), then it should be strong and flexible.

I'm curious to know if something about its wood construction can be shown to provide benefit, even if only to the most advanced and discerning of players (or not) or is the wood a gimmick that adds "$30 to the manufacturing cost and $80 to the price."
I am not wishing to disparage the product. I admit ignorance to its characteristics if not the "get rich good quick" schemes many a clarinet product more promises than consensus shows it to deliver.

I may have addressed this question in the "AK Ligature" thread. I have noticed that you can get a result that is a bit too brittle with some ligatures. I have some mixed results with the Zac ligature (high tech cables like the Silverstein and a wooden plate). At first I enjoyed the really responsive nature of the Zac ligature but found that sometimes the sound can get too brittle (sort of grating actually).
Without trying one I can't say if the wooden body ligature would do the same thing to the sound but I would personally not find it necessary to try this one just based on the odd material for the entire body of the ligature.
