I made a post a few weeks ago about audition tips, and I auditioned and got the results, I got in both the Youth symphony and concert band! I got 6th chair in the symphony and I dont know about the concert band.

Good for you! I guess I need to read what was written so I can pick up on a few pointers!

Congratulations! How cool that you got into the band and also the symphony -- so different from each other. I hope you have a great learning experience and loads of fun, too.

If I may ask, what is 6th chair in the symphony? Alternate Basset Horn? Just curious! Usually 2 to 3 chairs.

It is nice to read a comment from someone who is glad his audition got him in the group, rather than bummed out because he did not get first chair.

I've always found 2nd and 3rd clarinet just as challenging and satisfying as playing solo ... and a lot less pressure!

Keep moving forward. The other guys ahead of you will be "looking over their shoulder", wondering when you are gonna take their job ...
