E-flat part is not all that important, so you might want to stick with bass, which does have some exposed spots.

IIRC, the e-flat part goes up to high A in spots.

Maybe it's just because I'm in the northeast, but I have had the opportunity to play this many times - the first being when I was a junior in high school with the all-US orchestra that American Airlines sponsored in the 70's and the last a few years ago.
