I don't know if you're specifically looking for recital pieces or if you just want to play classical music on the clarinet. If it's the latter, this story might be of interest. This past summer I got to meet a well known Afro-Cuban saxophonist and composer who was doing a residency at the school where I work. We were talking about woodwinds and he said that he really wanted to learn the bass clarinet and that he was familiar with clarinet fingerings but had never really played the instrument very well. I gave him a few tips on where to find good information (Ed Palanker's bass clarinet pages) and strongly suggested he try playing Bach pieces transcribed for clarinet — there are several good books out there. ( Van Cott is a good source.) He looked at me and said, "That's just what Don Byron told me."
