Not entirely sure of his choice of clarinets in the oboe concerto and "Four Last Songs" - maybe he did that to suit German/Oehler systems under guidance from prominent German clarinettists of the time.
While he scored for D clarinet in perhaps its most famous role in "Till Eulenspiegel", it's much easier played on an Eb (and there are transposed parts for Eb out there for it - you'll have to look for them).
