I'm looking to buy a new A clarinet, but there are no stores near me that would be able to give me any real selection: 2 R13s to try, and that's it. I'm going to be in new York soon, so I'm looking for a shop in Manhattan that would have a larger inventory. Does anyone know of any such store?

You might consider going out to Long Island to

Jonathan Watkins is a great guy to deal with. It is a short train ride out there and well worth it.

Yes, Kristin is at The NYC Buffet Showroom on W 48th Street, where Laurie Orr, the manager, will help you out. They generally have a large selection of all types of Buffets there; I purchased 2 outstanding instruments selected from there last year (they do not sell direct to consumer, so you arrange to buy the instrument through any authorized Buffet dealer.)
Wright Music is very good, and of course Weiner Music (both on Long Island) has a good selection available.

I believe we've talked about Jonathan before. He's the great guy who used to work for Weiner (another shop in Long Island that you may want to try).
