 Selmer 5rv Lyre MP good for beginner?

Hello all this is my first post here. I have a question about a mouth piece. I just bought a used Selmer series 10G Bb clarinet off ebay. It was checked out to be in great shape and has no issues. It came with an old 5rv Lyre MP that I really like the sound so I bought a new one to replace the old one. My question is: is that MP suitable for basically a beginner? I have just a little trouble with squeeks on the higher notes. I'm using a Legere 2.25 reed which I will not part with.
