I like my little Seiko tuner/metronome. It is compact--fits easily in my clarinet case--and has a sweep needle that lights up in the dark. There are many different audiable click sequences available to accentuate the metric beat of the music and is quite sensitve to my soprano and bass clarinet sounds.
It is a "SMP-20" model, slightly larger than a pack of cigs. It does everything necessary--pitch accuracy, audible A (variable), 7 beat variations (more than you need), metronome function (beats nicely audable) and a backlite sweep hand meter that is ultra sensitive. And for the "clueless", it indicates which pitch is being played--LOL
