Colt .45, in holster or bottle with twist-off cap.

M30 lay is too long to be comfortable, unless your soft palette gag reflex can be overcome.

I've played both the M30 and B40 for awhile. They are quite different in many important ways but arrive at a similar sound - odd.

The M30 is a longer lay mouthpiece, which allows you to take in more mouthpiece and put in more air but the side rails are thicker which makes it more resistant.

The B40 is a short lay mouthpiece so you must take in less mouthpiece. It is however a much larger tip openning and requires (usually) a softer reed. The rails are pretty standard BUT the baffle has an exaggerated concavity giving it a "thicker" sound by nature of the physical dimensions.

On the whole I prefer the response of the B40 and almost made this my primary, but when it comes right down to it, I refuse to use anything other than Vandoren #4 reeds and these are a bit too hard for the B40.
