For what type of church service? Traditional/high church/classical music? Contemporary/praise and worship music?

The slow movement of the four church sonatas by Mozart arranged by Yona Ettlinger is great and it works both with piano or organ.

I you use the search function for "church music" (with the quotes), you'll get close to 700 hits. Probably find some useful information there.

(If that doesn't work, searching on "church" alone (without the quotes) will get you over 1300 hits.)

Best regards,
jnk

I am interested in this as well. Would like to find something that would make a nice prelude or offertory for a traditional service. Not too hard, with piano. Maybe even a clarinet duet (2 Bb's or 1 Bb and 1 bass?). Don't really want to sort through 700 or 1,300 pieces online. I'm not a pro, and most of the pieces I played for college jury, etc. were suggested by my instructor. Just need something nice and accessible that lasts for 3-4 minutes.

David E. Smith Publications has a lot of suitable clarinet solo as well as ensemble music for church use. Here's a list from their catalog. Most of the pieces have difficulty ratings, so you can be your own judge of what is easy enough:

The Curnow collections might be a good place to start with this repertoire.
