I have a college friend whose son will be starting clarinet this fall. She has a late 1950's wooden Conn Director that needs a bath and general overhaul. Any suggestions for a competent, reputable repair tech in the Tucson, AZ area?
Thanks in advance for your awesome expertise.

About a 90-minute drive from Tucson, but this is who a buddy of mine (pro sax player) trusts with all of his woodwinds:
Randy McBride
Brengle's Music
480-981-0914
5818 E Desert Lane, Higley, AZ 85236
Hope that helps.

My 30 year old wooden bass clarinet just came back from a first time visit with this repairman, and it plays well and in tune. I am about to take my Selmer alto sax to him, so I'd recommend him for your friend's clarinet:
Glen Miller, 2945 E. Manzanita Ave., Tucson, 85718; phone 520 299-4445.
